Claude Purbaugh
Claude Purbaugh has championship shooting ability, is a master gunsmith and a true lover of clay bird shooting. His trophy collection exceeds 1000 major shooting awards. One year at the NSSA World Shoot he came away with 16 trophies. At the 1971 California State Championships Claude won five gun championships. All of this was accomplished in spite of severe illness. Claude had undergone three cancer operations and the removal of six ribs in 1956.
He remained undaunted but could not tolerate the recoil of a 12 Gauge gun. Even with this handicap Claude managed to shoot a perfect 250/250 with his favorite Browning O/U, which he called
