WALTER C. BADOREK

WBADOREKWalter Badorek discovered skeet shooting in 1967 and has since had his name appear in the winner’s column too many times to mention. His competitive achievements vividly reflect what spirit, coordination, and dedication can attain. Walt won his first Open World Shoot title in 1969 ‑just two years after he began his competitive shooting career. The 12 gauge champion’s title won at that shoot was but the first of many world titles won. One of his most memorable titles was the High Overall Championship earned at the 1978 world shoot ‑ ‑ becoming the second shooter in history to break a perfect 550 x 550. On the way to becoming the 1978 World Champion, Walt outlasted all other contenders for the .410 Championship title.

In 1970 Walt was chosen to the All‑American Open First Team and has since been selected almost every year to one or another of the All America Skeet Teams. He has been on the Oregon All Star Team since 1970 and has been captain every year since 1972. With major wins from coast to coast, Walt has tied the world record score in every event. In addition, this perennial champion was the 1974 High Average Leader in 12 gauge, the 1975 High Average Leader in 28 gauge, and in 1976 he maintained the highest average of all shooters in 20 gauge.

Walt’s early and continued achievements in skeet shooting have shown the skeet world a man dedicated to the game. He has been an active member in the Oregon and Zone 7 Skeet Shooting Association as well as NSSA.
