Marjorie Annan

MANNANMarjorie Annan of Aspen, Colorado, began shooting skeet at age 23; and the former University ofKentucky coed, majoring in music, went straight to the top. She began shooting registered targets in August 1959, and during that same month, she learned the game. The following spring at the Great Eastern, which was the fourth shoot she had ever attended, she won the women’s 12 gauge event with 100 straight. She returned a year later to take the open 12 gauge title going an additional 100 straight in the shoot‑off.

Throughout her shooting career that lasted until 1969, Marjorie captured countless women’s titles and an impressive number of open ones. Among them were national women’s titles in 1963, 1965 and 1969. She compiled top women’s averages in 1961, 1962, 1965, 1968 and 1969 and set long run records in the 28 gauge and .410 bore.
